Hims
Newsroom
As the Hims comm team grew, the need for a news site became apparent. This page was created to house all press releases, news articles, and other media in one place.

Project overview
The goal was to create a visually engaging and easy-to-navigate page that could be a resource for journalists and other interested parties. The site also needed to be a CMS so that comms team could publish their own content on the fly.
Quick turn
The Newsroom site had a very tight timeline. When the project was assigned to me, we had only three weeks to complete the design, build the site, and launch it. The communications team and leadership wanted the Newsroom site ready to announce that Hims achieved profitability (2023’s Q4 earnings).
Webflow to the rescue
Achieving this timeline was impossible with Hims' current development procedures. Therefore, we used Webflow. Previously, Webflow was mainly used for landing page experiments and one-off microsites. It allowed us to test significant design changes before involving engineering to implement them in the CMS. In this case, Webflow was an excellent choice to quickly set up a user-friendly CMS.
Creative control
Previously (and still today), Hims used an external resource to manage an investor site. That site contains much of the same information now shared on the Newsroom, but internal stakeholders were not satisfied with its design. As a design-centric company, it was important for the team to control the look and feel of our Newsroom experience.
The design was heavily influenced by the Apple Newsroom site. I was responsible for the development of this project, but worked closely with the design team, making real-time iterations due to the tight timeline.
Seamless launch
The site was very well received. In the long term, we aim to create an entire ecosystem within the existing CMS to house the Newsroom and other corporate pages. However, getting this version out so quickly and making it easy for communications to get started was definitely a win.
